Exceptional Gokyo Lake, Gokyo Ri, and Chola Pass trekking in Everest Base Camp

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu

Upon arrival, you will meet and assist by Parikrama Treks representative. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 02: Flight to Lukla, Trek to Phakding (2640 m / 3 hrs)

Enjoy the most scenic 30minutes flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. As you reach Lukla start the Everest Base Camp Trek. We follow our trail to Phakding via Chaurikharka and Chheplung.

Day 03: Trek Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m / 5 hrs)

Early in the morning after breakfast, we trek to the Sherpa capital. We will walk through Monju, Banker, and Jorasalle village. We take two and a half hours uphill to reach Namche Bazaar. You can see the first glance of Everest.

Day 04: Trek Namche to Khumjung via Tengboche (3789 m / 3 hrs)

We start with a steep one-hour climb to the Tengboche airstrip (3790m). From here,  we will ascent towards Khunde passing many Chorten and Hill stations. It is a small settlement of the Sherpa community.

Day 05: Trek Khumjung to Dole (4040 m / 6 hrs)

We continue to trek to Dole by following the same route to Base camp until Sanasa. Then we ascend up to Mongla (4000m.). We trek through rhododendron and birch forest festooned with hanging mosses and lichens.

Day 06: Trek Dole to Machhermo (4,150 m / 4 hrs)

After Dole, the trek leads along with the small and thorny bushes. Ahead of you are excellent views of Cho Oyu, while back down the valley are the peaks of Kantega and Thamserku.

Day 07: Trek Machhermo to Gokyo lakes (4,750 m / 5 hrs)

After Machhermo, the trek leads over a very scenic path to Pangka. We climb a steep rocky inclined into the valley by the side of the glacier, passing the first of the holy lakes. Walking by the side of the lake, we will arrive at Gokyo village.

Day 08: Gokyo Ri hikes

An optional trip will be to discover the 5th lake on your day trip but if you are only feet. You can also hike to Gokyo ridge to get the splendid view of the tallest Himalayas within a 360 deg angle.

Day 09: Trek Gokyo to Thagnak (4661 m / 5 hrs)

We trek down from the Gokyo Valley to Thagnak valley. The village is below a small cliff.

Day 10: Trek Thagnak to Dzongla via Chola Pass (4830 m / 6 hrs)

Leave Tagnag, we can see Cho La Pass locating at 5,420m/17,778 feet above the sea. Ascend to make our attempt to the Cho La (5,420m.) Nepal top and descend down at Dzongla.

Day 11: Trek Dzongla to Lobuche (4930 m / 4 hrs)

Leaving Dzongla, ascend 20 minutes up, and follow the path to Lobuche village.

Day 12: Everest Base Camp Trek (5380 m / 7 hrs)

After breakfast, we conduct our journey for Everest Base Camp Trek. We will pass the last lodges of Gorakshep. It is the most rewarding section of the trekking. We will hike to Everest base camp and return to Gorakshep.

Day 13: Hike Kala Patthar 5 545 m, Return at Pheriche (4243 m / 9hrs)

Early morning, we hike from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar’s viewpoint. One can enjoy the view of Everest, Mt Pumori, Khumbetse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku. We descend downhill to Pheriche village.

Day 14: Descend down to Tengboche Monastery (3867 m / 6 hrs)

We visit the research center and trek to Tengboche monastery. From the monastery, one can enjoy the splendid view of Ama Dablam, green hills, and pristine rivers.

Day 15: Trek Tengboche to Namche Bazaar (3440 m / 8 hrs)

Finally, the trek descends from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar hiking passing several villages. Finally, we come to Namche Bazaar in the late afternoon.

Day 16: Trek Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2886 m / 8 hrs)

We trek to Lukla with the same trail as we use on ascend. Upon arrival at Lukla, we would get refreshed and take rest.

Day 17: Flight back to Kathmandu

We board our early flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.

Day18: Departure

Gokyo Chola Pass Trek Journey ends.
