After a peaceful morning by the sacred Lake Manasarovar, begin a short but impressive motorcycle ride to Darchen (4,675m)—the gateway to Mount Kailash. This small Tibetan settlement sits at the base of the majestic peak and serves as the starting point for the famous Kailash Kora (Circumambulation Tour), revered by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers.
Upon arrival, check in at the lodge and spend the rest of the day acclimatizing and exploring. You may stroll through the village, interact with spiritual pilgrims from around the world, and learn more about the profound religious significance of Kailash, believed to be the mythical home of Lord Shiva and a symbol of universal peace and enlightenment.

As you approach Saga, you’ll notice how the Brahmaputra River region and plateau scenery change, giving a sense of returning to a more “settled” part of western Tibet.
Distance & Duration: Around 500 km, which typically takes 8–9 hours by vehicle.
