The trek starts from Nayapul which is 45 minutes drive from Pokhara. We start walking amidst the sub-tropical valley forests. After walking past Tikhedhunga we will reach the base of the hill. It leads us to our first stop for the night. We need to climb around 3500 steps up the hill to reach this beautiful village.
After breakfast, we start our walk that leads to the famed Rhododendrons forest. From here you can also have a glimpse of the Annapurna South that hides by a ridge of mountains. We walk past tiny villages of Banthanti and Nangethanti to reach Ghorepani.
Early morning we will hike for 45 minutes to reach Poonhill (3210m). It will give us the view of a magnificent new sun rising over the Manaslu range. After breakfast, we leave behind Ghorepani and hike through the colorful rhododendron forest.
The trail descends through a subtropical forest highlighted by huge bamboo massifs. On our way, we will enjoy the majestic and magnificent Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Range. If you time and body feel to move further then you can climb up to Tolka for an hour. From here can see a loop of the valley and can be the shorter for the next morning.
Along the way, we walk past deciduous vegetation. Two of the highest mountains Dhaulagiri and Annapurna walk together on this trail.
Our day starts after the warm breakfast served at the forest camp. Although the walk today is not very long since it is steep and in some places difficult to climb. We will take our time and try to reach the high camp by the late afternoon. Going slow and steady helps to do the trek with more enjoyment.
Today is the most exciting day of the trip as we are climbing up to the base camp of Mardi Himal. This is also the most challenging part of the trek as the trail is small and difficult to walk in some places.
