Kusum Kanguru Peak Climbing Itinerary in Nepal North – South Route Day trip is a technical peak expedition. It lies in the Khumbu region of Nepal. This peak forms a border between the Hinku valley in the north and the Dudh Kosi valley in the south.
Kusum Kanguru peak climbing is best suited for those who have enough alpine mountaineering experience. Kusum Kanguru peak offers the fantastic panoramic view of the Himalayas like Mt. Everest. Cho-Oyu (8201m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8463m), Nuptse (7855m) Thamserku, and Amadablam.
Kusum Kanguru Peak Climbing is very challenging on all possible routes. To do this expedition we need to follow the Everest Base Camp trail. From Lukla to Monjo we follow a popular trail of Everest. The elevation of this peak is 6367m and there are two approaches to this climb. We trek through the forest of rhododendron and pine. One can also explore various types of flora, fauna, and wildlife.

Today you will have sightseeing of cultural sites of Kathmandu. We provide a short briefing about Kusum Kanguru Peak Climbing.
You will take a drive to the domestic airport for a scenic morning flight to Lukla. Today trails go along the hillside below Kalo Himal ridge. We will arrive in the summer pasture fields of Chhuthang.
Leaving the summer grazing fields we cross a Zatrawala Pass of 4600 m. We will descend and continue downhill trekking as we head towards Tuli Kharka.
From Tuli Kharka we continue our trek on a trail that is gradual descend all the way down to Hinku River.
Leaving Kothe, we continue our trek following the ridge of the Hinku River. We approach the summer herder’s settlement of Gondishung. From this point, a rather easy trek will lead us to Thangnak.
We take this day for acclimatization to ensure successful summit Kusum Kanguru peak climbing. We can do excursion around Sabal Tsho Lake.
We will continue with gradual uphill trekking all the way to Kusum Kanguru Base Camp.
Today is a rather short but demanding uphill climbing trek. It can be very tiring, so resting every now and then is the best way.
By now we are over 5,000 meters above sea level. Once again acclimatization is the main key to successful summit climb.
We continue to trek even higher which is around 5,600 meters. Once we reach our campsite, our Sherpa crew will set up the camp and make final preparations.
Today is the day we all have been waiting for. We will reach the summit of the Kusum Kanguru peak climbing. We spend our quality time and take a picture. Following the same route, we descend back to reach the Base Camp.
We retrace our footsteps back from the base camp. Our trail will lead us to Tashing Ongma for our overnight camping.
Today we hike through several uphills and downhills through dense rhododendron forest. We can enjoy magnificent views o Mera North, Mera Central, and South Face.
Today we retrace our way back to Lukla. We will celebrate and have our last meal together with our crew.
We take scenic 45 min flight back to Kathmandu. Transfer to the hotel.
