Guerrilla trails Trek is one of the newest trekking routes of the western part of Nepal falls in the remotest and nomadic villages of western mid-hills. Furthermore, this trail takes us to the only hunting reserve of Nepal. Dhorpatan is full of woodlands used as Guerrilla trails to attack during the war. So let’s visit the decade long war-centers of the Maoist Guerrillas trails.
This Guerrilla trails Trek is a new route that explores the western region of Nepal, Rolpa, and Rukum. Trekking along the Guerrilla trails lead us with the footprints used by the Maoist. Above all Guerrilla Trek passes through lush valleys areas of the mighty Himalaya. It includes the impressive Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and Gurja Himal (7193 m). The views from Jaljala, pass at (3386 m), are as beautiful as always.
As a result, Guerrilla trails trek is the latest designed route for trekkers. Even more, this place is the only trekking route affected by politics. This specialty is making this route the central attraction of trekkers. Our trek lasts for 3 weeks. Trekking in the Guerrilla route will be an extraordinary trek for us.
We start our Guerrilla trails trek from Beni. Then we follow the main walking trial and settle our night in Takam. We will also visit Lamsung, Nisi Dhor, Gujarat, Dhorpatan, Jalaja La villages. In this way, we complete our trek and finally return back to our place.
Guerrilla trails trek is not an easy route to do. Trekking in the route of Guerrilla is favorable during March to May and October. If you are willing to do trek be sure to contact us. The Guerilla trek overlaps with the Lower Trail of The Great Himalaya Trail.

We will spend our day roaming all around Kathmandu valley. At first, we will visit Pashupatinath then Boudhanath. At last, we will drive to Basantapur Durbar Square.
We will drive to Beni. After a drive of 8 to 9 hours, we will be at Beni. Our way offers us a view of Trishuli & Marshyangdi River up to Pokhara.
From Beni, we drive up to Darbang. Its distance is 24 km. With an easy walk, we reach Takam to spend our night.
Having breakfast we continue our trek to Lamsung. From the starting of our trek, we enjoy the dramatic scenery of the natural beauty surrounded all around us. Since this area is a wilderness trekking route, we can only see very few foreigners.
Waking up early morning we resume our journey to Gurjaghat. We walk through dense pine forests. Here we can see the dating of musk deer. It is in the undergrowth of the forest. We can also enjoy a great view of Dhaulagiri range up to Churen Himal.
In our today’s walk, we cross Myagdi and reach Baglung district. It is a former Tibetan Refugee camp in this area. We walk through the forested area. Our entrance destination is Dhorpatan. It is counted in the Hunting Reserve of Nepal. Here we can observe many rare plants and animals conserved.
Dhorpatan is known as a paradise for birds. Viewing its beauty we move ahead to Nisi Dhor. This area will offer us a view of Danphes (national bird of Nepal) with many other rare migratory species. Here our ancestors have fought a war. Looking at this place it is quite unbelievable.
Leaving Baglung district we continue our trek to Rukum District. We will be a witness to beautiful dense forests. It is all in our way. Most of the villages situated in this district are quite picturesque. With a good memory, we continue our walk and reach Tallo Sere. We will have a good night’s rest.
From Tallo Sera we continue our walk to Rujhi Khola. Our walk will be in beautiful Lukum village. It is populated only by Magars and Dalits community people. They all have their own culture & tradition. We can explore them and we continue our trek to Rujhi Khola to spend our night.
We resume our trek to Thabang. Thabang is known as the cradle of the Maoist revolution. It is fully destroyed in army attacks. Besides this here has been the development of some infrastructure. In our leisure time, we can have knowledge of the war ended in Thabang village.
Today we need to walk on the highest point of Guerrilla trails trek. In continuing our trek our next destination is Jalja La Pass in Jalja La of Dharampani 3900 m. From here, we can observe the great views of Api Saipal and Dhaulagiri.
It is our time to return. We follow the main trail to reach Jelbang. This village is ethnically mixed. Here we can see people from different cultures. Lastly, we reach Jelbang village where we spend our night in tented camp.
From Jelbang, we continue our walk to Sulio Chaur. Today’s walk finishes our trek. We can easily reach Sulio Chaur. This place was a rebel base area.
Today we will return back to Kathmandu. Our drive lasts for around 11 hours.
