Himalayan Bike Tours

This tour starts and finishes in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal that permits any time to be spent there to combine different Asian expertise tours within the region. We run 2 tours departing on May and September, every year following the route of Zhangmu, Xigatse and sightseeing to Lhasa via Everest Base Camp (Rungbuk). We provide accommodation of hotel/guesthouse along the way. This tour collectively referred to as “Royal Enfield Tour” as we use Royal Enfield Bike on this tour.

Tibet is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Just normal visits in the Tibet terrain are so extraordinary, and then just think how the Tibet motorbike tour will be. Out of the world- that’s right. Adventure Motor biking to even a normal place is exciting; this motor biking tour to the “roof of the world” will be so thrilling that you will talk about this tour even with your grandchildren. With open roads and White Mountains staring at you from the distance motor bike experience will be second to no adventure experience you’ve ever had.

You will drive on road for days and will bike from cities to cities leaving behind something extraordinary every half an hour of your trip. You will drive your motor bike on the ancient Silk Road, now and then you will come across some lake and some monastery and you can stop at your will if you want to take pictures of some awesome scenery on the way.


Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu 
Upon arrival in Kathmandu International airport in Kathmandu, Meet, assist and transfer to the hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing & Bike Introduction
AM: After breakfast, meet at the lobby and proceed for the sightseeing tour of the ancient Kathmandu city with its many beautiful temples and shopping courtyards.
PM: There will be a briefing about the trip as well as bikes. Later after the briefing the guest can take a trail round within the city.

Day 03: Ride Kathmandu to Syabrubesi Breakfast: Enjoy a steep winding descent to Trishuli with the beautiful scenery to match and ride along rolling hills,deep forests, and flowing streams.
Overnight at the Lodge
Day 4: Syabrubesi-Kyirong: Head towards the Nepal-Tibet border town of Kyorung (60 km, approx. 1-2 hrs, 2700m) Kyirong - Nepal / Tibet border, the last border town, complete Nepali Immigration formalities and cross the friendship bridge. Complete Chinese Immigration and met by guide and driver from Tibet.
Upon arrival check in at the Hotel. Rest of the day is free to relax or explore around the town to acclimatize.

Day 5: Kyorung- Saga: Beautiful Tibetan landscape welcomes you this day as you ride through a number of valleys and ride along the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River.

Day 6: Saga-Shakya: Scenic ride that crosses over 5 passes, and follow a route towards a sprawling river valley and picturesque traditional villages. (350 km, approx. 7-8 hrs)

Day 7: Shakya-Gyantse: Opportunity to explore Sakya monastery, the center of Sakya order, and at Gyantse be amazed visiting GyantseKubum, the most unique and magnificent building in Tibet. (244 km, approx. 5-6 hrs, 3950m)

Day 8: Gyantse-Lhasa: Head towards Lhasa and on the way ride along picturesque trail of the turquoise colored Lake Yamdrok. Lhasa:
Upon arrival at Lhasa check in to the hotel. Rest of the day is free to relax or explore around the town (265 km, approx. 5-6 hrs, 3650m)

Day 9: Sightseeing tour of Lhasa:

Day 10: Lhasa- Lhatse: Begin the return journey and ride the northern route to Lhatse and prepare ascending to 5248 M, the Gyatso la pass which is the highest section of the journey. (425 km, approx. 7-8hrs, 4050m)

Day 11: Lhatse- Rongbyuk: Head towards Rongbuk, and to the site of Everest Base Camp.

Day 12: Excursion around Mt. Everest Base Camp and Rongbuk ride to Tingri: Excursion around Everest Base Camp on dirt road by the Dzakar Chu River .
(Note: The new rules prohibit vehicles from going beyond DzaRongphu area. Clients need to travel by the Government coach and it costs Yuan 50.00 for a round trip Ride).

Day 13: Tingri-Kyirong: Ride the vastness of Tibetan landscape, the highest plateau in the World, with breathtaking panorama of beautiful Himalay an range.(280 km, approx. 6-7hrs)

Day 14:Kyirong-Kathmandu: Cross Nepal-Tibet friendship bridge and ride towards Kathmandu. (180 km, approx. 6-7 hrs)

Day 15: Final Departure
Breakfast: Free for final minute packing until transfer to the airport for final departure
