The Marpha, Jomsom and Muktinath areas provides insight into ancient cultures and religion and the Chitwan National Park is one of Asia's finest wildlife nature reserves providing visitors with an opportunity to ride elephants in search of the Royal Bengal Tiger, the one horned rhinoceros and other mammals, reptiles and birds.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu.
Upon arrival at the Kathmandu airport, Parikrama Treks representative will meet will drive to your overnight accommodation in the downtown center of the capital, Stay overnight at the Hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu.
Today we will have a Half day sightseeing of Bouddhanath Stupa "one of the oldest Buddhist monuments ever built in Nepal". Visit Pashupanath Temple - the most sacred Hindu Temples in the world. Once we have our return to hotel we will meet our road caption and will have our short introduction of our motorbikes with the short briefing about safety and rules we need to follow.

Day 03: Ride Kathmandu / Bandipur (144 kms) 4hours
After breakfast, we negotiate the traffic out of Kathmandu City and ride out of the valley at the cross section of the ring road at Kalanki and then set out for check post at Nagdhunga, just past Thankot. From here, the road twists and turns as we negotiate the traffic and descend to Naubise, 26 kilometer marker (about 17 kilometers from Nagdhunga). Then the road will become much larger and provide a smoother, more enjoyable ride on the highway to Kurintar,After a ride of 130 Kilometer we will continue for another 1⁄2 kilometer and then take the left turn to the Bandipur township. This 8 kilometer ride is a pleasant one as we continue to ascend on a winding path. Near the top we divert on a rough track for about 1 1⁄2 kilometers to arrive at a clearing and the Bandipur Resort which is hidden from view. It lies at the edge of a clearing in a densely wooded area overlooking the valley below.
Upon arrival we check into the Resort for overnight.

Day 04: Ride Bandipur to Pokhara (84 kms) 3 hours.
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and ride to the Bandipur bazaar. Bandipur is a pleasant charming hill town situated on a crest of the ridge that offers a magnificent view of the Nepal Himalayas and the Marshyangdi valley. The mountain panorama includes Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu and the Ganesh Himal range.
Later, set out on the ride to Pokhara (65 kms). At the outskirts of Pokhara, we are greeted with views of the Annapurna Mountain range including the famous Fish Tail Mountain.Pokhara stands at 884 meters above sea level and is an ideal vacationer’s paradise. With its crystal clear lakes, magnificent views of the Annapurna Mountain Range and its bustling but quaint lake side bazaar.
Upon arrival we will check into the hotel and the rest of the day is free to relax or browse through the lakeside Bazaar with its many quaint shops, restaurants, books and music stores.
(Note: This is a short day’s ride to allow some time for rest for the hard rides in the days to follow).

Day 05: Ride from Pokhara to Tatopani (105 kms) 4 hours
After breakfast we set out for the town of Beni, 78 kilometers on the Baglun Highway, which takes about 3 hours, and is a convenient place to have lunch. After lunch we set out through rough terrain on a newly constructed road to Jomsom to arrive at Tatopani. Tatopani, which means “Hot Water”, is one of the most popular overnight stops in this area. It is so named because of the Hot Springs, which are located close by.

Day 06: Tatopani / Jomsom (2,713 m)/ Muktinath 70 kms 3 hours
After an early breakfast, set out on the trail by following the Kali Gandaki River passing waterfalls and Thakali and Magar Villages to Dana (4,750 ft. / 1,446 m.) and then steeply ascend to Ghasa (6,600 ft. / 2,012m). The Kali Gandaki gorge is the deepest gorge in the world.As we pass between the Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna mountain range, a dramatic change in vegetation is witnessed from green forests, to dry arid desert. It takes gradual acclimatizing with the surrounding. The Thakali’s are the dominant tribe of the valley, related to the Gurung and Magars of the southern slopes. From here we head to Jomsom. Jomsom (2,713 m) is the Administrative Center of the Mustang region and the gateway to the Annapurna region. A land of mystique, the rugged peaks of the Annapurna, Nilgiri and Dhaulagari gaze down in their awesome splendor at weathered landscapes that contrast with the deep river ravines over flowing riverbeds.
After a good rest and Lunch we set out for Muktinath on graveled riverbeds. If lucky, one can find ammonite fossils millions of years old but one can also buy them directly from the traders.  The evening is free to enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

Day 07: Ride to Tatopani via Marpha. (75kms) 4 hours.
After a leisurely morning we set out from Jomsom to Marpha to visit the local Monastery. This local Monastery is currently being renovated under the supervision of Mr. John Sandy, who is very well known in this field. His restoration works for the World Monument Fund include all of the major Monasteries of the Upper Mustang Region. After lunch, we will ride to Tatopani.

Day 08: Ride Tatopani / Pokhara. 80kms 3⁄4 hours
It is a pleasant relief to be able to tackle the roughest section of the journey in the early morning. After arriving at Beni, stop for a quick break and head off returning back to Pokhara.
Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Spend another evening in this quaint mountain town with beautiful lake views which is extremely popular for shopping at the bazaar.

Day 09: Ride Pokhara / Lumbini (190 km) 6/7 hours.
After breakfast, drive to Tansen, the most popular summer resort on account of its location and climate. Tansen is situated on the slopes of Shreenagar Danda at an altitude of 1,343 m. The views from Tansen are spectacular. Toward the north you have an ultra-wide mountain panorama all the way from Mt. Dhaulagiri in the west and in the east there is Mt Gauri Shankar. We will stop at Shreeenagar to have lunch.After lunch continue riding to Lumbini, the place where Buddha was born in 623 B.C. It lies in the south – western part of Nepal. Here one visits the Sacred Lumbini Garden that possesses all the treasures of the area. The Mayadevi temple is an important religious site where Buddha’s mother gave birth to him. West of the Mayadevi temple, the Indian emperor Ashoka erected a pillar to spread Buddhism and demarcate the boundaries of his empire. The Ashoka Pillar bears an inscription that authenticates Lumbini as the place where the Buddha was born. Sightseeing is at Kapilvastu. Located some 27 Kilometers to the west of Lumbini lies the ruins of the town of ‘Kapilvastu’, believed to be the capital of Sakya Republic where Lord Buddha lived and enjoyed his life until his thirteen year. Kapilvastu has been identified with Tilaurakot by the archaeologists. Also the place is believed to have been associated with different important episodes. There are ruins and mounds of old Stupas and monasteries made of Kiln-burnt bricks and clay-mortar.

Day 10: Ride Lumbini to Chitwan (180 Km) 6/7 hours
After breakfast we set out for the ride towards Chitwan. The road is a flat, black top pitched and is a pleasant ride until Chitwan (Approx. 3 hours – 180 Km). Chitwan National Park is the oldest national park in Nepal and is situated in the subtropical inner Terai lowlands of South Central Nepal. The park has an area of 932 square kilometers. The park was designated as a World Heritage Site in 1984. The park is just a short detour off the Prithivi Highway. The name Chitwan means heart of the jungle. In recent years this park has risen meteorically on the lists of the Things to do in Nepal. The park covers a pristine area with a unique ecosystem of significant value to the world. It contains the Churiya hills, ox-bow lakes and flood plains of Rapti, Reu and Narayani rivers. The Sal forests dominate the vegetation of the park. The grasslands form a diverse and complex community with over 50 species, the Sacchurun species, often called elephant grass, can reach 8m in height. The park boasts of more than 43 species of mammals, 45 species of amphibians and reptiles and 450 species of birds that live within the park. The park is renowned for its endangered animals along with many other common species. Upon arrival at Chitwan we will check in to the resort.
Late PM: Guest will be taken on a wildlife safari on an Elephant to view and photograph wildlife from close quarters. The animals are scattered, elusive and mostly reside in the dense grasslands which grow to a height of 20 ft. The only means of penetrating this dense grassland is by elephants. Evening Continental or Nepali dinner is served around the campfire in the round house.

Day 11: Jungle Activities at Chitwan National Park
Early morning the guests are again taken for a 3 hour wildlife safari on an Elephant to view and photograph wildlife. In late morning visit the Elephant stables where the resident naturalist highlights the life of the beast. This is an interesting hour with the elephants and the guests get the opportunity of participating and witnessing the rare scene of elephants at bath.
PM: Guests are taken for a drive through the jungles comprised of Sal forests and riverine forests and visiting the numerous lakes found inside the National park to view the water birds, mugger crocodiles and appreciate the flora of the national park. This will be followed by a boat ride on the river to view the endangered fish eating Gharial Crocodiles and many migrant and resident water birds.
After the canoe ride, meet waiting vehicles for the drive to the resort.
Have dinner & stay overnight at the Resort / Hotel.

Day 12: Ride Chitwan to Kathmandu 150 kms 5/6 hours.
After breakfast we will make the ride back to Kathmandu. We retrace our ride back to Muglin at 50 kilometers and cross the suspension bridge and then turn left to Kathmandu (120 kms). En route we will stop for lunch at a convenient place. Upon arrival, bid farewell to the Road Captain and mechanic and team and check into the Hotel.

Day 13: Free day in Kathmandu
Free day in Kathmandu to rest, relax and explore the city on your own.

Day 14: Final Departure
A free day for last minute packing and shopping until transfer to the airport for final departure. END OF SERVICE
